Held in person in Brasília from 15 to 18 October 2024, the meeting aimed to accelerate progress towards the elimination of child labour in Latin America and the Caribbean, in line with SDG Target 8.7. To this end, participants reviewed progress under the Regional Initiative’s 2022–2025 Strategic Plan, discussed strategies to strengthen its governance and sustainability through resource mobilization and South-South and Triangular Cooperation, and promoted the exchange of knowledge and experiences on key economic sectors to prevent and eliminate child labour.
