Since its creation in 2014, the Regional Initiative has advanced in the exploration and design of various instruments, tools, and practices that, implemented in a coordinated manner, have achieved making this an innovative decision for:

Keep the subject as a political priority

Install a person-focused work approach aligned with the 2030 Agenda

Promote South-South and Triangular Cooperation, including Africa

Establish a regional collective voice and vision against child labour

Integrate the Caribbean countries into the regional action

Estimate the child labour risk in 11 countries

Strengthen the inter-agency action

Extend the knowledge base on child labour in the region

Be recognized with the ILO 2019 Innovation Award
